Hi friends and welcome to the backyard! Angels are great items to add to your home décor any time of year. There are so many different ways to craft an angel but today I wanted to create an easy angel ornament to add to my patriotic tree.
Materials you will need:
- Sea Shells Plastic or Real
- Wooden Star Cutout
- Wooden Circle Cutout
- Wooden Oval Cutout
- Craft Paint – Red, White, Blue, & Skin Tone
- Ribbon
- Glitter Mod Podge
- Hot Glue
- Paintbrush
Let’s get started!
Step 1:
Paint your shells one red, one white, and one blue. I used chalk paint and acrylic paint. Both covered equally well.
Step 2:
Paint your wooden star and oval shapes one red, one white, and one blue as well.
Step 3 & 4:
Paint the wooden circle shapes skin tone of your choice.
When all items are dry apply a thin coat of glitter mod podge. This adds a beautiful sparkle to your angels.
Step 5:
Turn your shell with fan side facing down and hot glue oval to base of the shell. .
Step 6:
Next hot glue star halo to the center of your oval. You will then hot glue your angels circle face to the center of the star.
Step 7:
The final step is adding a ribbon so you can proudly display your ornament. Hot glue your ribbon directly behind your angel’s halo so she will hang straight.
These patriotic angels can be displayed year round or featured within your home décor in honor of Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. You can even include them in a tiered tray just by eliminating the final step! I hope you enjoyed this DIY and remember to always incorporate your own crafty personality into every project!
